Staying at the Family-Owned Merrion Hotel, Llandudno
After all these years – over 150 actually, Llandudno is still a big favourite with everyone. What’s not to like? Llandudno’s immaculate seafront gracefully framed by two headlands is a seaside classic. It is a proper resort, with pier, promenade, sea, Alice in Wonderland – Llandudno’s got taste. The Merrion Hotel is run by 2 brothers who continue to have it managed with the same ethos and values enshrined by their Grandparents in the 40’s and 50’s, they also have Samantha in the business as second chef, this means four generations of Breams at the Merrion and makes them one of the oldest family-run businesses in the area. Whilst the hotel business changes constantly, their focus on quality and value remains true to their past.

Our Itinerary
DAY 1 Once your door-to-door service has picked you up and brought you to the coach we travel via the Horseshoe Pass to Llangollen for time to peruse at leisure and purchase lunch. Renowned for the surrounding hills and the River Dee, Llangollen has something for every visitor. This small town also has a wealth of independent shops to browse and interesting places to visit. We later make our way to Llandudno via the Dee Valley and our hotel where we aim to arrive in plenty of time to settle in before dinner.
DAY 2 A free day today to explore all that Llandudno has to offer.
DAY 3 A full day today. We head firstly over the tops to St Asaph and tweed mill for some retail therapy before later making our way to St Margarets Church for a visit. The church contains fourteen varieties of marble including pillars made of Belgian Red marble, a nave entrance made from Anglesey marble.
DAY 4 A full day again today as we have a morning visit in Betws-y-Coed before making our way via the Vale of Conwy to the ancient harbour town of Conwy. Conwy is a true one-off. Well-preserved ancient walls, the most intact in Europe, enclose a town of narrow cobbled streets, nooks and crannies chockfull of historic buildings. And that’s just the half of it. The walls radiate out from a gritty, dark-stoned castle that, even after all these years, still preserves an authentic medieval atmosphere – and still has the power to dominate.
DAY 5 A free morning to do any Christmas shopping before we meet for an included lunch in the hotel. We travel straight to our home areas afterward where your door-to-door service will be waiting to take you back home.
