Ulverston Dickenson Christmas Market

The 2024 Christmas festival is already being planned in the full traditional Ulverston Dickensian Festival style. There will be multiple performance stages, roving street performers, hot mulled wine, a town-full of wonderful stalls, and costume parades through the historic town streets.

Come along and get into the Christmas spirit. Dress up if you want to, and enjoy the amazing friendly atmosphere.

Performers will include brass bands,  singers, magicians, fire eaters, jugglers, stilt walkers, and a whole lot more. All of the entertainment is provided absolutely free of charge.

​In addition there will be fairground rides (which you have to pay for), and of course you’ll want to visit Ulverston’s traditional and specialist local shops, cafes and pubs. Ulverston still has many independent small businesses, and also still has thriving indoor and outdoor markets.

​You might also take the opportunity to visit other parts of Ulverston. Walk to Ford Park and climb Hoad Hill, visit the Orangery cafe at St Mary’s Hospice (next to Ford Park), walk down by the canal to Canal Foot and visit the Bay Horse Inn, or drive to the Manjushri Kadampa Buddhist Centre at Conishead Priory (Ulverston’s unofficial premiere dog walking woods, beach, and vegetarian cafe), where even the monks get dressed up in Dickensian costumes for the festival weekend. There are other great walking and cycling locations, and many cafes and pubs in the villages around Ulverston.
