Ireland – Killarney, The Ring of Kerry & Dingle Peninsula
Single Supplement: 215.00
Staying at the 4 star Killarney Towers Hotel
Our holiday to Ireland takes us to the south west corner and the County of Kerry. This is where we find Killarney one of the most friendly and traditional towns of any in Ireland. It is known for the Irish music bars and of course the ‘craic’ which is a type of banter and fun that you don’t get anywhere else. Whilst here we drive the beautiful Ring of Kerry as well as the magnificent scenery of the Dingle Peninsula. Our hotel, the Killarney Towers is centrally situated which allows easy access to the town and surrounding area’s. It is known for good food and friendly atmosphere as well as the traditional evening music bar.
Our Itinerary
DAY 1 After your doorstep pick up, we join our coach and drive across Anglesey to the port of Holyhead for our afternoon sea crossing to Dublin. Once we clear customs, we drive south out of the city to Carlow and the Seven Oaks Hotel for our evening dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 2 After a real Irish breakfast we drive southwest and make a stop at Adare, a beautiful old thatched village before continuing through Castleisland to Killarney and the Killarney Towers Hotel for dinner and a stay of 4 nights.
DAY 3 A free day where we can arrange a journey on one of the familiar jaunting cars (horse and trap) which takes you down to one of the Killarney lakes where a sail can be included. The drivers of the jaunting cars are very witty and amusing and are always ready to tell you a good joke or two, another visit could be to Muckross House situated in the national park.
DAY 4 Today we have a superb tour of the Ring of Kerry. First, we stop at the Red Fox and Bog Village where you can sample an Irish coffee as well as visit the village before driving the coast route to our lunch stop. We then continue the journey to Sneem and on to Ladies View before continuing to Killarney. The whole journey today will have covered more than 100 miles.
DAY 5 Another full day as we head to the Dingle Peninsula. First, we drive around the headland with sheer cliffs down to the sea. Also, beautiful views across to the Blasket Islands, gaelic speaking which were inhabited till 1953. We then continue to the town of Dingle for some free time before returning to our hotel for dinner.
DAY 6 After breakfast we leave Killarney and travel to Blarney famous for the castles, kissing stone and woollen mill. We have time here before travelling back to Carlow and our hotel, the Seven Oaks for dinner and an overnight stay.
