Staying at the Esplanade Hotel
Dunoon is the main resort on the beautiful Cowal Peninsula and the maritime gateway to the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. It is one of the Firth of Clyde’s foremost resorts built around the historic castle mound and famous for its large Victorian pier. The Esplanade Hotel is situated on the west bay promenade of Dunoon. Perfect for those who like to escape from the hustle and bustle. It is the ideal location to relax & unwind with the beach right outside the hotel. It’s a traditional hotel, best suited for those who just want to sit, relax and watch the world go by.

Our Itinerary
DAY 1 After your door-to-door service has picked you up, we join our coach and travel north via motorways before we cross country to Gourock to catch the short sailing over to Dunoon and our home for the next 5 nights.
DAY 2 A free day today to relax and explore your surroundings. The town has an attractive promenade, take a walk along the high street and browse the selection of craft shops and galleries, or enjoy refreshment in one of the cafes.
DAY 3 A full day today as we take the scenic route around the north of Loch Fyne and down to Inverary. We have an included visit to Inverary Jail (behave yourselves!!) before you are given time to explore this pretty town at leisure before we head back to our hotel.
DAY 4 A full day today as we do some island hopping. We catch our ferry back to the mainland before joining another ferry to take us over to the Isle of Bute. Here we explore as much of the island as possible before stopping in Rothesay to peruse at leisure. We catch our ferry back to the mainland and then back to Dunoon.
DAY 5 This morning we head out to Benmore Botanic Garden for an included visit. A magnificent mountainside garden, home to a world-famous collection of plants from the Orient and the Himalaya to north and south America, including over 300 species of rhododendrons. Benmore welcomes visitors through an avenue of 150-year-old giant redwoods, arguably one of the finest entrances to any botanic garden. The afternoon is free for you to relax and do as you wish.
DAY 6 Today we head for home. After a leisurely start, we retrace our steps south to your door-to door service which will return you to your doorstep.
