Our Itinerary
DAY 1 After your door-to-door services has brought you to the coach we have a country run via settle to Hawes where we shall pause for you to purchase lunch. Hawes has plenty of traditional shops and places to eat. We then continue to our hotel for dinner and a stay of 4 nights.
DAY 2 A full day today, we head firstly to Haverthwaite to join our steam train for a single journey on the Haverthwaite Railway. At Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, travel back in time when you climb aboard the steam train, which takes you to Lakeside Station where we connect with Windermere Lake Cruises for a cruise on Windermere to Bowness where we shall spend the remainder of the day.
DAY 3 After a leisurely breakfast we travel firstly to Ambleside, perfectly located in the heart of the national park, built of traditional grey slate. This afternoon we visit Grasmere, nestling at the foot of some spectacular fells with its own lake. You can also see Wordsworth’s grave in the churchyard and buy the legendary Grasmere Gingerbread.
DAY 4 Today we drive via Ullswater to Patterdale for included morning coffee before we have an included sail on the Ullswater steamer to the pretty village of Pooley Bridge where there will be time to peruse and have lunch. Pooley Bridge straddles the River Eamont at the head of Ullswater in the picturesque Eden Valley. We return to the hotel via the Kirkstone Pass.
DAY 5 After breakfast we travel to Keswick for time at leisure. Keswick has a range of shops and services far larger than might be expected which you can find both in the main market square and down every alley and side street. Refreshed we head to your home areas where your door-to-door service will meet us to take you back to your doorstep.
