The Isle of Wight at Sandown
Single Supplement: Nil
Staying at the Trouville Hotel, Sandown
The Isle of Wight is an island off the south coast of England. It’s known for its record breaking hours of sunshine, beaches and seafront promenades such as nearby sandy Shanklin beach and south-facing Ventnor beach, which is dotted with vintage beach huts. On the island’s western point, The Needles are 3 huge, white chalk rocks, guarded by a 19th-century lighthouse. It also has the last remaining Hovercraft service in the world for a truly unique way to travel. Our hotel is situated in a prime position next to the sea and pier in Sandown and the town being just behind the hotel.
Our Itinerary
DAY 1 After your door-to-door service has brought you to the coach, we make our way south stopping for appropriate refreshments en-route before catching our afternoon crossing to the Isle of Wight and our hotel where we hope to arrive in plenty of time to settle in before dinner and a stay of 5 nights.
DAY 2 A free day today to explore your surroundings, maybe enjoy a stroll along the prom to Shanklin.
DAY 3 A full day today as we follow in the steps of Queen Victoria and visit St Mildred’s Church. Once we have spent time here, we make our way to Osborne House for an included visit. The house was built between 1845 and 1851 for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
DAY 4 Today we visit Godshill, Alum Bay and Yarmouth. Set in the very heart of the Isle of Wight’s rolling countryside, there is so much to see in and around Godshill. Alum Bay is well known for its multicoloured sand cliffs and stunning views across the Solent. The town of Yarmouth offers plenty of things to do, walk up Yarmouth Pier and enjoy the view of the stunning West Wight coastline and even see the ferry coming in to dock.
DAY 5 A full day again today to Ryde, Newport and an included visit to Carisbrooke Castle. The town of Ryde is the largest town on the Isle of Wight. Newport is the Isle of Wight’s capital town, at the base of the River Medina. Carisbrooke Castle has been an artillery fortress, king’s prison and a royal summer residence.
PLEASE NOTE, there is quite an incline from the coach park to the castle entrance.
DAY 6 This morning we catch our morning sailing back to mainland before heading north and retracing our steps to your home areas where your door-to-door service will be waiting to take you to your doorsteps. Suitable refreshment breaks will be made on our way home.
